According to the data shared by AFAD; today at 10.48, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Doğanşehir district of Malatya. The depth of the earthquake was measured as 13.9 KM.

Following the earthquake in Malatya, Professor Dr. Naci Görür from ITU, a geologist, made an important statement on social media regarding this earthquake.

Stres Transferi Nedeniyle Oluşuyor

In his statement, Görür mentioned, In Malatya Küçüklü-Doğanşehir, there was a shallow earthquake of 4.7 magnitude near the intersection of Doğanşehir-Sürgü faults. The fault zone between Doğanşehir and Malatya produces small earthquakes from time to time due to stress transfers; caution should be exercised.
